Fulham Medical Centre is looking for 2 full time receptionists
Job Summary:
 
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
 
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
 
Job Responsibilities:
 
Administration
  • To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
  • To work in accordance of written protocols
  • Scanning letters and processing letters onto patients medical notes
  • Fax and photocopy as requested
 
Reception
  • Receiving patients consulting with members of practice team
  • Be able to cover all reception position as necessary
  • Have working knowledge of telephone system, during hours
  • Process appointment requests for today and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
  • Deal with visits requests
Computer
  • Registrations of new patients – computer data entry and medical records.
  • Process patients change of address – computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area.
  • Process repeat prescription request in accordance with practice guidelines.

Salary is negotiable depending experience.

Job Summary:

  • Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
  • Work both independently and within the practice team to promote client-orientated delivery of health care services.
  • Support medical/nursing staff and visiting practitioners in the performance of their roles.
  • Organize daily workload to affect smooth running of appointment system and practice diary.
  • Maintain well-ordered manual and electronic client medical records.
  • Communicate with all disciplines to ensure effective client care outcomes.
  • Participate in and contributes to practice teamwork towards achieving a cohesive approach in line with team objectives and philosophy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administration
  • To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
  • To work in accordance of written protocols.
  • Pulling/filing notes for surgeries and update as necessary.
  • Filing post in medical records.
  • Fax and photocopy as requested.
  • Receive deliveries into the practice and processes relevant accompanying paperwork.
  • Participate in audit.
  • Observe security requirements.
  • Undertake daily change of computer backup cassettes.
  • Report all accidents/untoward incidents promptly to the practice manager.
  • Liaise with the manager to identify problems relating to client dissatisfaction.
  • Participate in performance review program.
  • Undertake continuing education to keep abreast of current health trends/initiatives.
  • Have working knowledge of telephone/bleep system, during and after hours.
  • Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
  • Be able to cover all reception position as necessary.
  • Keep waiting clients informed of delays in the appointment system.
  • Handle in-person/telephone client requests for results and book appointment with nurse to discuss results or informs them of abnormalities ONLY in accordance with policy.
    Appointments
  • Schedule client appointments according to medical or nursing need.
  • Process appointment requests for today future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
  • Deal with visits requests.
  • Arrange hospital transport as appropriate.
  • Orientates visitors to the practice.
  • Liaise with hospitals and outside agencies

Computer

  • Registrations of new patients – computer data entry and medical records. Process patients change of address – computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area.
  • Process repeat prescription request in accordance with practice guidelines.

Other Tasks

  • Clear rooms after surgeries.
  •  Ensure building security – have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
  • Any other tasks allocated by managers.

  • Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines.

  • Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards.
  • Reporting potential risks identified.
